Welding and cutting skills

1 maintain the extension of 1/4-3/8 inch welding rod (the length of welding wire protruding from the welding gun head); 2. Use small diameter welding wire when welding thin plates; Large diameter welding wire and high current welding machine are used when welding thick plates. Check the specific performance recommended by the welding machine; 3 use the correct welding wire to weld the workpiece. Stainless steel welding wire welding stainless steel, aluminum welding wire welding aluminum, steel welding wire connecting steel; 4 use the correct protective gas. Carbon dioxide is very suitable for welding steel, but the temperature may be too high when it is used to weld thin plates. The mixture of 75% argon and 25% carbon dioxide should be used, which will cause the hardness to be unable to show or the hardness value to be low, and the body will weld thinner materials. Only argon can be used for welding aluminum. When welding steel, you can also use a mixture of three gases (helium + argon + carbon dioxide); 5 to achieve the best effect of controlling the weld bead, keep the welding wire directly aligned with the bonding edge of the weld pool; 6 when the welding operation is in an abnormal position (vertical welding, horizontal welding, overhead welding), keep a small weld pool to achieve the best control of the weld bead, and use the welding wire with the smallest diameter as far as possible; 7. Ensure that the size of the welding wire you use matches the electric nozzle, liner and driving roller; 8. Clean the welding gun liner and driving roller frequently to keep the welding gun mouth free of splash. If the welding gun mouth is blocked or the wire feeding is not smooth, replace it; 9. Try to keep the welding gun straight during welding to avoid wire feeding problems; 10 use both hands at the same time during welding operation to ensure the stability of the welding gun, and do so as far as possible. (the same applies to electrode welding, TIG welding and plasma cutting); 11 adjust the tightness of the welding wire disc and driving roller of the wire feeder to just enough for wire feeding, and do not be too tight; 12 when the welding wire is not used, keep it in a clean and dry place to avoid being polluted and affecting the welding effect; 13. Use DC reverse polarity DCEP power supply; 14 dragging (pulling) welding gun technique can obtain deeper penetration and narrower weld. Push gun technique can obtain shallow penetration and wide weld

aluminum welding -

1. The most suitable welding gun for aluminum is the wire drawing welding gun. If you can't use this kind of welding gun, try to use the shortest welding gun to keep the welding gun straight; Only argon can be used as protective gas; Only push gun can be used when welding aluminum materials; 2. If you find a wire feeding problem, you can try a conductive head that is one size larger than the welding wire; 3. The most commonly used welding wires for aluminum welding are soft standard welding wires that exceed the main requirements of automobiles in terms of low volatile organic compounds (VOC) emission, low fog, low odor, and no impact on paint adhesion. The other is harder (easier to feed wire), which is mainly used in welding operations with higher hardness and strength requirements; 4. Before welding, the oxide layer on the surface of aluminum should be removed, and a special stainless steel brush should be used to remove the oxide layer; 5. Fill the crater at the end of welding to prevent cracks. One way is to keep the welding gun in the molten pool for several seconds after welding

self protective flux cored wire welding -

1. Pull (or drag) gun technique is used during welding; 2. Keep the welding wire clean and dry to achieve the best welding effect; 3. This kind of welding is similar to electrode welding, because the slag layer on the weld surface must be cleaned after welding. Slag hammer and wire brush can be used for slag removal; 4. No extra protective gas container is required for self shielded flux cored wire welding. (the protective agent is in the welding wire). This feature makes it very suitable for outdoor operation, because the protective gas is easy to be blown away when used outdoors; 5. Self shielded flux cored wire welding is more difficult than MIG welding when welding thin plates

tig welding -

1. it is very suitable for thin plate welding - a clean welding process can obtain a beautiful welding appearance; 2. Argon is used as protective gas when welding steel and aluminum materials; 3. Use DC positive polarity (DCEN) to weld steel and stainless steel, and use AC welding aluminum; 4. Push gun technique has been used in TIG welding; 5. Match the size of tungsten electrode with the size of socket nozzle; 7. Welding aluminum - pure tungsten electrode shall be used. In this way, tungsten is easy to form a spherical tip during AC welding; 8. Welding steel and stainless steel - tungsten electrodes containing 2% thorium shall be used. Tungsten electrode shall be sharpened during DC positive electrode welding

electrode welding -

1. Most of the time, drag gun technique is used; 2. Be prepared to prevent welding slag splashing; 3. Keep the welding rod clean and dry - follow the manufacturer's recommendations; 4. Penetration: negative DC - maximum penetration, AC - medium penetration (may also splash more), positive DC - Minimum penetration

plasma cutting -

1. Clean, dry and oil-free air environment is very important; 2. Keep it at the specified air pressure (higher air pressure may not be better); 3. Gently contact the cutting torch with the workpiece surface; 4. When cutting, cut from the end of the workpiece, and further cut after ensuring that the arc is completely penetrated; 5. After cutting, stop at the place with low noise to ensure complete disconnection; 6. The cutting torch should maintain a vertical angle with the workpiece; 7. The working cable should be tightly connected with the workpiece as far as possible; 8. If you can see the arc penetrating from the bottom of the workpiece and the moving speed is correct, the cutting will proceed smoothly

resistance welding -

1. Resistance welding is not suitable for welding aluminum, copper or copper alloys. It is only used for welding steel and stainless steel; 2. To get more heat (current output), a shorter electrode arm should be used; 3. If it is a welding machine without heat control function, the length of electrode arm should be used for control. For example, when welding thin plates that require low heat, use the long 230 single leaf flat open multifunctional door electrode arm; 4. Pay attention that the longer electrode arm may be bent, and you may also lose the pressure on the weld; 5. Ensure that there is no gap between welding workpieces, otherwise the welding effect will be greatly affected; 6. Keep the two electrode arms aligned so that the electrodes are aligned with each other. Also, keep adjusting the appropriate pressure, not too big or too small; 7. If you need one side of the workpiece to have a good appearance after welding, you can grind (machine) the electrode side; 8. Always clean the electrode, otherwise the output (current) will be reduced. The electrode should also be equipped with a suitable protective sleeve
