1. Common characters

Chinese characters, foreign letters, numbers, symbols, etc. are mostly stored and processed as internal codes. According to the national standard, there are two types of commonly used characters, namely, 6763 Chinese characters and 682 symbols in GB; GBK (internal code extension standard) code contains 21003 Chinese characters and 1038 symbols. Users of Founder system also commonly use 748 character library, which contains more than 14000 simple and traditional characters. When making the layout, this kind of character is to add some font, size, modification, positioning marks and other control characters on the basis of the original code to complete the layout. When outputting at the back end, a page description file must be generated. Generally, it is a postscript file or EPS (encapsulated postscript, encapsulated single page PS) file according to the current international standard. The file is interpreted and encoded through rip. After calling the font library to restore the font information, the laser Imagesetter or CTP device is controlled to output. If the character encoding and font library of PS file are completely consistent with the encoding and font library (PS font library) configured by the back-end rip, it can be output normally; Otherwise, it cannot be output normally. The solution is to use the download method to transfer the characters of the front-end display font without encoding, but to convert the font strokes of the characters into the form of curves and directly include them in the PS (EPS) file. Although the file generated in this way is much larger than the former method, and the character quality and output speed are also reduced to a certain extent, the dependence on the back-end font is greatly reduced, which further enhances the reliability and security of the output. These two different output methods have their own advantages and disadvantages. According to the compatibility of the front-end and back-end systems, through the change of the layout setting, we can selectively adopt the method of partially downloading the character setting to give consideration to each other

2. Font complement

for some characters that are not in the front and back-end font, on the premise of ensuring the quality of characters, only through special word making software (such as Fangzheng Nuwa complement system), the word making file is generated according to the code, which is called for back-end output. This method is basically consistent with the storage principle and calling method of computer standard font. When using this method to supplement words, the common problems are the difference of font description methods (vector words and curve words) and the output error at the back end of the pull range caused by the difference of font base. For example, the suffix of Nuwa word supplement software and vector word library is * BZ, the curve font complement file is * PFI。 The recognition of these two kinds of font is different in different rip versions. For example, the word base configuration file I (stored in/basepfi/or/bin/of the file installation directory of the word creation system) and the founder ntrip configuration file I (stored in/bin/of the rip installation file directory) of Founder Nuwa supplementary words can be copied and installed according to different word creation systems, but the file name of file I cannot be changed

3. Modifier type

4. Image type

images are generally stored in two formats: vector graphics and dot matrix graphics. The format of dot matrix graphics is generally used before printing. This type of document is characterized by rich colors, delicate description images, and easy to hang output component color plates; The disadvantage is that the file is large, takes up a lot of storage space, and the size of the file increases exponentially with accuracy. Generally, in order to ensure the printing quality, the image accuracy is 300dpi (1.5 ~ 2 times of 120 ~ 175 lines/inch of printing output). Due to the limitation of printing accuracy, too high accuracy is detrimental to the back-end output, and too low accuracy will cause blurred image outline and unclear hierarchy

when selecting the type of storage file, it is generally saved in TIFF format, which is characterized by good file restoration and no distortion. Generally, it is not stored in JPG format. JPG format is a file compression format, which is fixed under the beam by two positioning columns through U-turn bolts. Although the file is short, it is a way to obtain the compression rate by reducing the image quality. Although the TIFF file is relatively large, it can also achieve JPG compression effect by using compression tools such as winzip and WinRAR, and it is lossless compression. When outputting PS (EPS) files, pictures can be included in the file or saved separately according to the different page making systems. At this time, picture files must be sent to the output center at the same time

When outputting the printing plate directly on the CTP system after using the computer to automatically fold the hand (make-up), it should be noted that the output method of the back-end output setting of different production software is different. Some systems have their own output function options that are compatible with the back-end rip, such as fit, wits, founder's edition, etc., which can be set directly; Some systems need to set the corresponding output device system to complete the output of PS (EPS) files, such as pagermaker, CorelDRAW, freehand, word, WPS, EXECL, etc. when setting the print driver, this kind of page making system should pay attention to the matching with rip and folding software, such as founder rip.
